Some background: |
There is a saying that goes "Rome was built on seven hills and Dufftown stand on seven stills". This small Highland town where the rivers Fiddich and Dullan join, became a major distilling centre in the last 19th century. The distillery was founded in 1896 in a converted corn mill. It draws its exceptional water from nearby Jock's Well. The single malt produced is classic Speyside enhanced with it' long ageing in Olorosso casks. | |
| Tasting Note: | Intensely dark in colour showing its sherry cask ageing. A nose full of rich intense sherry with a handful of raisins. The palate is smooth and warm with a deep complexity. A mouth filling texture with a dense dry finish. | |
