Some background:

The most northerly of Scotland's distilleries, located in Kirkwall the capital of the Orkney Islands. The distillery produces it's own heavily peated malt on traditional floors, giving that unique, much celebrated Island taste, in 1919 the Imperial German High Seas Fleet scuttled their entire navy in Scapa Flow. Take a lead from German High Command and sink a few drams of this wonderful malt.
Tasting Note: A delicious honey, golden, colour.  Classic salt/brine hints. Complex. Good length of flavour - if a tad sweeter than the 78 version we did a while a go. An extra dimension of flavour that seems to be missing in the standard bottlings, which although good, for me they seem to miss something. perhaps less rounded, but more individual.
