Clynelish Distillery, set in the Highlands of Scotland, has a cult following for its waxy and fruity signature spirit. This robust single malt owes its character to the production methods at Clynelish. Leaving the natural oils in the stills helps create this dense, rich spirit – perfect for maturation over a considerable amount of time. After a little over 17 years slowly maturing in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we selected a smaller, fresh 110-litre bourbon barrel, from Koval Distillery. This barrel enhanced this celebrated spirit, rapidly giving it a bolder character – a fine example of artfully matured Scotch whisky.
